KUCHING (Dec 18): A man sustained injuries to his waist after falling from a crane while installing a shop signboard in Tapah along Jalan Kuching-Serian.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said acting on a call at 10.53am, personnel from the Siburan fire station were dispatched to the scene together with an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team.

“Upon arrival, the team was informed that the victim had fallen from a height of about 10 feet while carrying out work at the premises.

“He was stabilised by EMRS personnel and sent to Serian Hospital for further treatment,” said Bomba in a statement.

Separately, two men were injured after the lorry they were travelling in crashed into a tree at RH Park, Mile 9 here on Wednesday night.

According to Bomba, the victims aged 21 and 26 were not trapped in the lorry but required assistance to exit the vehicle.

Personnel from the Kota Sentosa fire station, assisted by the Siburan EMRS team, were involved in the rescue operation.

Bomba did not state the nature or severity of the duo’s injuries, but said both were sent to hospital for further treatment.
