Youth and Sports Ministry pledges to work with local clubs to enliven sports culture

SIBU (Aug 8):: The federal Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) will continue to work closely with local sports clubs and organisations to nurture a vibrant sport culture in Sibu and beyond.

This is according to Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Adam Adli Abd Halim who said his ministry would always provide the platform for local players to voice their aspirations and challenges in promoting the sport within the community.

“Come up with more games and our ministry’s commitment is to foster sports at the grassroots level,” he said during a dialogue session with members of Lanang Pickleball Club and iPlay Swan Squad (IPSS) Pickleball Club held here recently.

He commended both clubs for promoting pickleball and encouraged other communities to take inspiration from their dedication.

“Pickleball is not just a sport. It is a bridge that connects different generations and communities,” he said.

During the session, members of the two clubs shared their experiences and discussed the need for better facilities and resources.

They also expressed the hope for more tournaments and programmess to develop local talent.

Adam Adli offered insights into the ministry’s plans to enhance sports infrastructure and training opportunities for aspiring athletes.

Demonstrating his enthusiasm and skill, the Deputy Minister played alongside club members, much to the delight of the audience.

His involvement underscored the Ministry’s hands-on approach to understanding and supporting sports initiatives at the local level.

He said events like the dialogue session played a crucial role in shaping the future of sports in Malaysia.

“The Ministry’s engagement with local players and clubs signifies a positive step towards a more inclusive and active society,” he stressed.

Among those present was Lanang Pickleball Club president Daniel Ling Shii Ngie.
