12yo Bintulu boy pierced in neck by metal rod, undergoes emergency procedure

KUCHING, May 25: A 12-year-old boy had to undergo an emergency procedure after being pierced by a metal rod in the neck area in Bintulu.

In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 5.47am today, and firefighters from the Bintulu station were deployed to the hospital.

“The hospital requested assistance from Bomba to cut a portion of the metal rod lodged in the boy’s neck to facilitate a CT scan procedure,” said the report.

The team used a bolt cutter to cut the metal rod. The victim was also noted to still be conscious. — DayakDaily
