13 nabbed for drug abuse in Kuching nightclub raid

KUCHING (Dec 7): Police have arrested 13 individuals for alleged drug abuse during a raid at a nightclub in Petanak here on Saturday.

In a Facebook post, the Kuching District Police Headquarters said the arrests were made during an integrated operation dubbed ‘Op Pusat Hiburan/Op Noda’.

“Of the 46 individuals inspected, 13 of them were found positive for drugs and were arrested under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.”

The caretaker of the premises was also arrested, and several pieces of music equipment were seized for further investigation under Section 24 of the Entertainment Ordinance 2001.
