KUCHING (Nov 3): A total of 139 civil servants were honoured with the Betong District Outstanding Service Award 2023 during a ceremony held in Simanggang on Friday.
The award recognised officers and staff who had worked beyond expectations in discharging their responsibilities, according to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) report.
Deputy Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Mohamad Razi Sitam said the award acknowledged officers and staff who had shown high commitment in their duties.
He highlighted the award also aimed to cultivate a culture of excellence among staff, motivating them to uphold professionalism and integrity in their work.
“The dedication shown by them proves that excellence can only be achieved through hard work, discipline and high integrity,” he asserted.
Mohamad Razi added that the award should also inspire other officers and staff to strive for excellence.
He emphasised that excellence is not just a slogan but a culture that needs to be constantly promoted and practised in every action taken and decision made.
He further stressed the importance of officers and staff performing their duties and responsibilities effectively, fostering a work culture that strengthens integrity and contributes to overall progress and achievements.
