139 Indonesians were sent home by land route

SERIAN, Oct. 1: A total of 139 Indonesians were transferred from Semuja Immigration Depot to their home country by land route today.

Sarawak's Immigration Department (IMD) in a statement said, they consisted of 111 men and 28 women.

According to the statement, all Indonesians concerned were taken from Semuja Immigration Depot to the Tebedu Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex before continuing their journey to Indonesia.

"The transfer process was led by Shareena Mohamad Shuib as Deputy Immigration Depot Commander Semuja along with a team of escort officers.

"The representative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI), Mr. Daniel Nugroho, Consul/Secretary 2, was also present to coordinate the repatriation affairs of the Indonesian nationals concerned", according to the statement.

Cooperation between JIM Sarawak and KJRI also ensures that the transfer process runs smoothly, as well as security and control aspects are given priority.

The entire transfer process is smooth, safe and controlled according to established procedures.
