SIBU (July 8): A total of 210 students are taking part in the Swan City Toastmasters Club’s Youth Leadership Camp at Sibu Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Jalan Kemuyang here.
The students were from 21 secondary schools in Sibu, Bintangor, Bintulu and Kuching.
According to the organising chairman Dr Clement Chen, the main objective of the camp was to train youngsters to become leaders of tomorrow.
The opening of the camp was officiated by Bawang Assan assemblyman Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh yesterday.
In his speech, Wong advised the youth to do their best to study hard to shape their future and forge their destiny.
“Anticipate change and when change comes, you have to manage them in a correct, successful and confident way,” he said.
During the camp, the students will be taught communications and leadership skills.
