SRI AMAN, April 15: A 26-year-old man was killed in a self-accident involving a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) along Sri Aman–Serian Pan Borneo Highway near Bukit Sabal early this morning.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Simunjan responded to the emergency at 4.26am and a team of firefighters was deployed to the scene with assistance from the Serian Station.
According to the operations commander PBK I Christoper Tungoh, the team arrived at 5.04am and found the vehicle had been involved in a single-vehicle crash.
The male victim was found trapped in the driver’s seat.
Firefighters used special equipment to extricate the victim from the wreckage. However, he was later pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia.
Firefighters subsequently carried out clean-up works to clear debris from the scene. The operation concluded at 7am after authorities confirmed the area was safe. — DayakDaily
