KUCHING (Jan 16): A total of 3.1 million eligible Malaysians will receive the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) Single Category through the Rahmah Basic Contribution (Sara) mechanism.
The federal Ministry of Youth and Sports said the STR Single Category is a government initiative to assist the low-income group, particularly single youths, who face economic challenges and the rising cost of living.
“The STR Single Category is a cash assistance that aims to ease financial burdens and help recipients meet their daily basic needs,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said the aid will be very meaningful to youths, who are building a career, self-employed, or having a low-income.
In this regard, the ministry advised eligible recipients of the STR Single Category to manage and use it wisely, prioritise basic needs, avoid wastage, and take advantage of opportunities to improve their skills and marketability.
“The ministry will continue to remain committed to supporting the welfare and development of youth in line with the aspirations of a Madani Malaysia,” it added.
Malaysians aged between 21 and 59 with a monthly income of RM2,500 or below are entitled to the STR Single Category.
