KUCHING, May 15: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has conducted a ballot session to select 803 applicants vying for the 323 stalls for this year’s Kuching Festival Food Fair (KFFF), which will be held from July 22 to August 16.
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the overwhelming response to this year’s applications indicated a strong response.
“This demonstrates public confidence and continuous support from the public for the food fair, further showcasing Kuching’s growing recognition as a leading gastronomy destination in the region,” he said in his remarks before the ballot session at MBKS today.
He said that of the 323 stalls, there will be 92 premium stalls, 55 single Stalls, 146 half stalls, 25 double stalls, one Chinese Home Cook Delicacy Corner, one drink stall, and three beer stalls.
Wee stated that the food fair has become one of the most anticipated annual events in Kuching and will continue to play a significant role in promoting the city’s gastronomy, multicultural heritage, and community spirit.
“MBKS remains committed to ensuring the smooth and successful organisation of the festival, and we look forward to welcoming both local and international visitors to experience the unique flavours, cultural diversity, and festive atmosphere in Kuching,” he said.
