A man was arrested after the Wheelie attack

KUCHING, Oct 4: A man was arrested by police after allegedly riding a 'wheelie' while riding on Datuk Patighi Road Haji Abdul Rahman Yaakub.

Kuching District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said that he detected a video of the incident posted on a social media site around 9.30 am yesterday.

According to him, the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, Kuching Regional Police Headquarters (IPD) then conducted a check-up to identify the motorcycle owner as well as the individuals involved.

"As a result of the inspection, police have identified the motorcycle owner and identified individuals believed to be involved in the incident.

"About 10.30 a.m. the same morning, a police team went to a house in Kuching area and detained a man believed to be the motorcycle rider", he said in a statement today.

He said the case was investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving or riding a dangerous vehicle.

The police advised the public to abide by all traffic laws and regulations and not take any action that could endanger themselves or other road users.
