Brother Johari joined the "brisk walk" and breakfast with the Mukah community

MUKAH, 3 Oct: Sarawak Premier, Tan Sri's Highest Grandfather Johari Tun Openg participated in a two-kilometer 'brisk walk' activity with the community here today.

The activity, which started around 7am from Jalan Boulevard Setia Raja, also passed through the Pasar Mukah area, giving Brother Johari a chance to be friendly with the local community and traders.

Following the activities were Minister of Women, Children and Community Welfare, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah; Deputy Minister in Sarawak's Premier Department (Corporate Affairs, Explanations and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol; Deputy Minister of Urban Development and Natural Resources of Sarawak, Datuk Len Talif Salleh; Secretary to the Government of Sarawak, Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki's grandfather and representatives from the area concerned.

Among them are the Deputy Minister of Health; Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib; Member of Parliament for Tanjong Sweet, Dato Yusuf Abd Wahab; Member of Parliament for Igan, Ahmad Johnie Zawawi; Member of the National Assembly (ADUN) Balingian, Dr Abdul Yakub Arbi and ADUN Tellian, Royston Valentine.

Brother Johari and others also stopped participating in taichi exercise activities before spending friendly time taking pictures with the local community.

The activity is part of the Sarawakku Sayang 2026 Open Section Programme in collaboration with Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM), which is also held alongside the Day Without Trains programme to encourage the community to practice active lifestyle through recreational activities.

After the 'brisk walk', Brother Johari and his entourage interacted with the community at Market Dana's coffee shop, thus giving him an opportunity to interact with locals and traders.

The programme also serves as a platform for strengthening connections between the state leadership and local communities through leisure activities. - TVS
