Two men were found to be under the influence of alcohol, one was arrested positive for drugs.

SAMARAHAN CITY, Oct 3: Two men were found to be under the influence of alcohol, while another was detained after a urine filter discovered he was taking amphetamine and methamphetamine in an intoxicated and drug-related operation on the city's expressway early yesterday morning.

Samarahan Metropolitan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said that the operation was conducted by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division as well as the Regional Narcotic Crime Investigation Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters (IPD), from 11 pm to 3 am.

"A total of 123 vehicles and 129 individuals were inspected during the operation.

"Two men were found to be under the influence of alcohol, while one man was detained after a urine test found he was taking amphetamine and methamphetamine", she said in a statement today.

He said the operation was carried out to curb drunk driving and drug abuse, as well as ensuring road safety of users in the area.
