KUCHING (July 6): Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) newest section for members aged 18 to 28, ‘Belia 1828’, would finally be formalised during the party’s convention in early 2025, says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“We have formed a committee chaired by PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas to coordinate the general meetings of party sub-branches to branches up until the PBB Convention, which will be held in early 2025,” he told reporters when met after chairing PBB supreme council meeting at the party headquarters here today.
The PBB president said the party, as a component of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), strives to ensure that Sarawak’s economy would continue to grow for the betterment of the people and the new generations.
Also present at the meeting was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, also PBB senior vice-president.
PBB had initiated the efforts to establish Belia 1828 in 2022, shortly after the implementation of Undi18, the lowering of voting age for Malaysians from 21 to 18.
