KUCHING, 8 Oct: Kuching City FC head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak paid tribute to Tampines Rovers FC's tactical approach which opted to stay compact or fit the term 'bus parking' in the Shopee Cup competition at Taha Ariffin Stadium, Petra Jaya, last night.

According to Aidil, the defensive approach used by the Singapore team is not something to be debated as each coach has his own planning and tactical approach in facing a match.

He nevertheless praised the sincerity of Kuching City's players who did not give up despite facing Tampines' highly composed and difficult to penetrate defensive lines.

"I still appreciate my players who don't give up. They did a good job scoring two goals, even though Tampines played. I don't want to say "bus parking", but they were very compact.

"You (the media) are talking, not me. You say they're 'bus parking', they're 'bus parking,' said Aidil as he waved to the media after a match against Tampines Rovers FC at Taha Ariffin Stadium, on Wednesday night.

Aidil said the situation should be a useful experience for Kuching City to improve their way of dealing with teams that prioritize defensive discipline and reduce playing space.

"For me, every coach has his own tactics. They have their own opinions and tactical approaches, so we need to respect them", he said.

At the same time, Aidil wanted his line of players to use that experience as a learning tool for facing similar situations in future matches.

Kuching City managed to bounce back to record a 2-2 series result over Tampines Rovers, thus opening the 2026/27 Shopee Cup campaign with positive results. - TVS
