AirBorneo confirms KCFC's mission to win three championships in the 2026/2027 season

KUCHING, 13 Oct: Kuching City FC (KCFC) received a new shot in the hunt for three championships of the 2026/2027 season when AirBorneo Airways confirmed its commitment as the club's official flight partner.

The partnership signed through an official ceremony today enabled KCFC to use AirBorneo's flight service for matches at destinations across the company's network, in addition to including other forms of sponsorship to support teams throughout the season.

KCFC Executive Chairman, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said that the strategic cooperation will help launch team travel affairs in the face of match schedules throughout the season.

"AirBorneo is our strategic partner and official airline partner. For each team trip to a destination that has an AirBorneo flight route, we will use their services.

"However, for destinations not covered by the network, we will use other airlines' services", he said when meeting with TVS after attending a signing ceremony between AirBorneo Airways and KCFC, here today.

The meeting also saw KCFC Chief Executive Officer Iswandi Ali Hassan and AirBorneo Airways Chief Executive Officer Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin representing their respective organisations in the signing of the partnership.

Commenting further, Fazzrudin said the cooperation not only benefited from the travel aspect of the team but was also able to inject the spirit of the players who carry Sarawak's name in football competition.

"We are proud to carry the AirBorneo name as citizens of Sarawak and as a team from Sarawak. AirBorneo is a Sarawak-owned airline that we are proud of together.

"The matter itself has been able to inject the spirit of our players because they understand the importance and value of AirBorneo when the airline is together with this team", he said.

At the same time, he said the cooperation lasted for a year or one season, but was open to continuing strategic ties with AirBorneo for the coming seasons, thereby strengthening the cooperation between the two organisations that bear Sarawak's identity. - TVS
