Altar of Dehumanisation

Know that — we are what we truly are
At the core we all are human beings
Supposedly unique, and beautiful beings
There are no other creations — just like us
We are higher than angels, at our best
So live the essence of who we are

Alas beware — when we humans deviate
Through our dehumanisation of others
We will, ourselves, become inhumane
For we are, in fact — unlocking our ugliest
Being truly caught in a trap so insane
Of the perverse force — of humanity militate

When we propagate war — and violence
Justifying our lust — for terror, and atrocities
Worshipping at the Altar of Dehumanisation
We have succumbed, to the absurdities
Of the perverse force, of Dehumanisation
Where an atomic blast, is made acceptable
Killing of innocence is deemed respectable

How can we be so wrong — so badly lost?
Where we burn peoples’ homes into ashes!
Where killings of innocents is celebrated! And we dehumanise our fellow beings most
Death of our own hearts, is gladly feted
Rivers of tears aflowing, ashes to ashes!
