MATU: The construction of a parking lot at the Islamic cemetery area in Kampung Seberang Igan has been completed.
According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the completed project was handed over to a representative of Kampung Seberang Igan Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) by the Public Works Department (PWD) on Monday (July 8).
The handing over was witnessed by the Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya.
In a brief speech, Juanda hoped that the parking space would provide comfort for residents and public who park their vehicles to manage funerals and for those visiting the cemetery.
Following the project handover, the Jemoreng assemblyman visited six houses in Igan and 10 houses in Kampung Tian Matu for the proposed Minor Rural Project-Sarawak Poor Home Improvement Programme (MRP-PPRMS).
Also present was acting Matu district officer Zaraina Sahari.
