According to a press release, during the solemn yet celebratory occasion, five deacons will be ordained to the priesthood, namely Charly Law, Nungpat Simpan, Tomity Garai Nicholas, Gandau Naga and Yeo Win Ton.

“These individuals have completed their diaconate year and are now transitioning into full priestly ministry to serve the pastoral, sacramental and spiritual needs of their respective parishes,” the Diocese said.

Meanwhile, Malcolm Bonnyface David Henggi will be ordained to the diaconate. He is a recent graduate of Malaysia Theological Seminary (STM), Seremban, holding a Bachelor in Divinity.

The six candidates have just completed their ordination retreat held from April 15 to 18 at the Kidurong Anglican Centre in Bintulu in preparation for their ordination.

The Diocese said the ordinations are a testament to the continued growth of the Church in Sarawak and Brunei.
