KUCHING, 8 Oct: Sarawak Utility and Telecommunications Minister Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi appreciated Datuk Sharbini Suhaili's cooperation in addressing utility issues that need attention between the ministry and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB).

He said Sharbini's contributions also included local capacity building, worker development and emphasis on safety, sustainability and responsible development.

"His contributions not only involve infrastructure and electricity supply, but also help to develop local capacity, workers as well as emphasize the importance of safety, sustainability and responsible development", he said.

Meanwhile, Julaihi said Sarawak Energy should continue efforts to expand electricity supply in rural areas through the Sarawak Alternative Rural Electrification Program (ALAF).

He said the implementation of ALAF is now at the end of Phase 4 and will enter Phase 5.

"I believe that Dato Ruslan will continue the good work done by Datuk Sharbini and Sarawak Energy team.

"It is important to ensure that Sarawak has full electricity supply, especially in rural areas, besides providing additional energy capacity to support the state's industrial development", he said.
