Appreciation dinner for Petronas media partners in Bintulu

BINTULU (Oct 30): Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) on Sunday hosted an appreciation dinner to honour its media partners and celebrate their integral role in supporting Petronas Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd’s (MLNG) operations here.

Speaking at the event, MLNG managing director and chief executive officer Mohamed Syazwan Abdullah @ Laga Jenggi expressed his gratitude to the media members for their invaluable contribution in delivering Petronas’ messages and objectives to the local community.

“In this day and age, news and social media are crucial; we cannot just run away from it. The fact that many people begin their day by checking their mobile phones for news update highlights the importance of media.

“Nowadays, technology has advanced to the point where people can even type using their eyes, underscoring the rapid pace of change,” he said.

Mohamed Syazwan also commended the new forms of social and news media for their efficiency and speed, particularly the utilisation of online platforms.

“The entire Sarawak now benefits from their own local editions, which shows the power of social media in connecting communities,” he said, adding that Bintulu boasts a unique community.

“Hopefully, this relationship will continue to prosper. We cannot live without each other; we have to coexist and work together for the betterment of the Bintulu community,” he said.
