KUCHING (July 9): Police have arrested three men in connection with Monday’s shooting behind a supermarket at Mile 19 Jalan Kuching-Serian that left three other men injured.
Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Mohd Radzi when contacted today said the suspects are aged between 23 and 32 years old.
“They were arrested at Mile 17 and Mile 18 Jalan Kuching-Serian between 8pm and 11pm on day of the incident.
“All three have been remanded until July 16 for further investigation under Section 307 of the Penal Code and Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971,” he said.
Mohd Irwan said police are currently working to locate the shotgun believed to have been used in the incident.
He called on anyone with information on the matter to come forward and assist the investigation.
Monday’s incident, which happened around 2am, left one man aged 24 and two others aged 25 with gunshot wounds to their bodies.
Mohd Irwan in an earlier statement said all three were in stable condition at Sarawak General Hospital.
Police have yet to disclose the motive behind the shooting.
