KUCHING, Mar 24: Assan Saget officially assumed the role of chairman of the Sarawak Kajang Ethnic Community Association (PKEKS) recently, taking over from outgoing chairman Among Matu in a formal handover ceremony witnessed by the Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai.

The ceremony marked the symbolic transfer of responsibilities with the exchange of a Handover Note detailing past activities, current financial statements and ongoing strategic plans to ensure the association’s smooth administration.

Among Matu expressed confidence in the incoming leadership, urging the new team to carry forward the association’s legacy with fresh energy and innovation for the welfare of all members.

In his inaugural address, Assan Saget pledged to enhance academic performance among Kajang youth, strengthen youth engagement, and increase the association’s funding. He reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling his duties with integrity and vision.

The handover was attended by both outgoing and newly appointed committee members.

With the new leadership in place, PKEKS is set to embark on a renewed journey to advance its objectives and strengthen its role within the Kajang community. — DayakDaily
