SELANGOR: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan paid his final respects to the late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali today (Sept 28).
Representing the Sarawak government, he visited the family residence at The Mines, Seri Kembangan, following her passing earlier today.
Also present to pay their final respects to the wife of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and several political leaders.
Dr Siti Hasmah, who was born on July 12, 1926, died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur at 9.20am. She was 100.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), funeral prayers are scheduled to be held after Asar prayers at Masjid As-Syarif in Taman Sungai Besi Indah, Kuala Lumpur.
Her remains are expected to be laid to rest at Pusara Negara in Precinct 20, Putrajaya.
