KUCHING:
All schools in Serian will be temporarily closed tomorrow following worsening haze conditions that have affected air quality in the area.
The Sarawak education department announced the decision after the air pollutant index (API) reading in the district exceeded 201 tonight.
The closure involves 108 schools, and the department said home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) will be implemented during the period.
The Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System portal recorded an API reading of 217 in Serian as of 10pm today.
