KUCHING: The Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak Fit and Fun Club badminton squad will take to the court tomorrow (Oct 5) at the Liga Uniti 2024 to battle for the championship title.
The tournament, hosted at the Badminton Hall of the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) Sarawak Regional Campus, promises fierce competition as teams from various organisations compete for top honours.
AZAM Fit and Fun Club president and AZAM Sarawak Strategic Communication manager Hassnal Hakim Junaidi expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness.
He noted that following the futsal team’s 12th place finish out of 25 teams, the badminton team is well-prepared to deliver a strong performance.
“We are confident our badminton team can compete with the best and show their potential for even greater success,” he said in a statement today.
Hassnal also highlighted the club’s ongoing efforts to encourage active participation among its members, and to promote a healthy lifestyle and teamwork through sports, which aligns with AZAM Sarawak’s mission to empower communities through participatory communication and development.
“AZAM, through our sports club, continuously promotes healthy competition and active engagement among our staff and members. This year’s Liga Uniti further demonstrates our commitment and the progress we’ve made,” he added.
He encouraged supporters to rally behind the team as they aim for victory in the tournament.
