According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the inspection covered several key venues identified for the celebration, including Masjid Jamek Betong, Dewan Panglima Rentap, and Dewan Sukan Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan.

Among those present were Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, Deputy Minister of Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Sarawak Protocol, Ceremonial and Event Management Unit director Datu Hamdan Sharbini, and Betong Division Resident Datu Richard Michael Abunawas, along with heads of relevant departments.

The visit began at 10am with a comprehensive assessment of each venue’s suitability, focusing on capacity, parking facilities, crowd movement, safety measures, traffic management, and logistical requirements such as public address systems, seating arrangements, and stage setup.

Following the inspection, a coordination meeting was held at the Betong Division Resident’s Office to review the findings and further refine implementation plans.

The meeting also featured briefings by the relevant agencies, covering key areas including security, traffic control, logistics, VIP protocol, publicity, and technical coordination throughout the event period.

These early coordination efforts are vital to ensuring the celebration is carried out in an orderly and seamless manner, in full compliance with national ceremonial protocol standards. — DayakDaily
