Bintulu Anglican cemetery to be upgraded, says assemblyman

BINTULU (Oct 26): The Anglican cemetery here will be upgraded and improved, said Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang.

According to him, the works will include constructing a fence around the cemetery, as well as at the entry and exit gates.

“In addition, the appointed contractor will also improve the pedestrian walkways within the cemetery area to facilitate burial procedures and also enhance the comfort of those visiting the graves of their family members and relatives there,” he said in a statement.

Pang officiated at the symbolic handing-over of the cemetery upgrading project to the appointed contractor yesterday.

Adding on, the assemblyman said the fence around the cemetery would make it secure from any trespassing or activities that could damage the graves.

“At the same time, what’s more important is the comfort of visitors who come to pay their respects to their relatives, with better pedestrian walkways,” he added.
