Body of missing Myanmar national found in Muara Payang

SARIKEI (Oct 24): The body of a foreign boat crew member who went missing three days ago was found around 9am today.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said a member of the public found the body floating in Muara Payang.

After receiving a report, search and rescue (SAR) team members moved to the location and found a body in an incomplete condition.

Operation commander Mahmudin Narudin said the body was transported to the Bomba operations base for the identification process.

It was then confirmed to be the body of 45-year-old Min Wai Lin.

The third day of the SAR operation for the missing Myanmar national had resumed today at 8.30am.

The victim was reported to have fallen from a ship docked at a jetty near Taman Susur Jambu on Tuesday.
