KUCHING (March 14): A boy is among three injured after their MPV collided with a lorry at Engkilili junction in Sri Aman this afternoon.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak dispatched rescuers from Sri Aman station after a distress call was received at 1.34 pm.

“Upon arrival, it was found that the accident involved a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a lorry. In the incident, there were three victims inside the MPV.

“A young boy was successfully extricated from the vehicle by members of the public before the arrival of the firefighters, and he received initial treatment from the medical team,” said Bomba in a statement.

Two adult women were pinned in the front seats of the vehicle.

The firefighters used special tools to extricate both victims before they were given initial treatment.

“All victims were later taken to hospital,” Bomba said.

Clean-up works were carried out at the accident’s scene before the operation ended at 2.47pm.
