Brothers hurt after fighting off masked home intruders at Jln Kuching-Serian

KUCHING (Oct 24): Two brothers were injured while fending off three robbers who broke into their home at Mile 10 Beratok, Jalan Kuching-Serian on Wednesday night.

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the incident occurred at 7.30pm when the siblings were with five other family members.

“Three masked individuals suddenly rushed into the house but were confronted by the brothers, who sustained injuries to their hands and heads in the process,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Irwan added that the suspects, believed to be armed with sharp objects, fled the scene empty-handed.

“They are believed to have escaped in a vehicle. Efforts are underway to track down the suspects,” he said.

He said the brothers, both in their 30s, sought treatment for their injuries at a private medical centre.

Mohd Irwan called on anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Padawan district police headquarters on 082-862233.

“The public are advised to immediately contact the police if they spot any suspicious individuals or vehicles,” he said.
