KUCHING (Dec 29): The visitors board of Sekolah Tunas Bakti Visitors Board received a RM50,000 contribution from Cahya Mata Sarawak to support its rehabilitation programmes.
The board chairman Zasran Abdullah, in a statement, hailed the concern shown by the corporation as ‘the most encouraging achievements this year’.
He also expressed appreciation to Welfare Department (JKM) Sarawak for its continued concern and strong support in assisting the school in various aspects for its development.
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to CMS and hope that such acts of concern would be emulated by more private companies.
“I believe this contribution will be fondly remembered and remain close to the hearts of the residents who benefit from the facilities made possible through the donation, particularly the youths undergoing rehabilitation at the institution,” he said during the ‘Cahya Mata Appreciation Night 2025’, held at Imperial Hotel here.
Meanwhile, JKM Sarawak director Semawi Mohamad said that the appreciation event reflected the commitment and teamwork among the Cahya Mata staff, the visitors board members and the institution’s residents.
“Such close cooperation is crucial to ensure that the STB environment remains conducive to helping the residents rehabilitate themselves and building a brighter future after leaving the institution,” he said.
He also commended the dedication of STB staff in sourcing various forms of support to help residents acquire the skills and values that would have a meaningful impact on their future.
Among those guests was Cahya Mata corporate social responsibility manager Yusof Aziz and the Sekolah Tunas Bakti principal Boniface Julai.
