KUCHING: Kuching City FC head coach Aidil Sharin has restored belief among local fans by implementing an exciting brand of football.

The local football scene has seen its glory days, but it has also experienced tumultuous times.

In the eyes of local supporters, The Cats have become a joy to watch, with Aidil guiding his players to deliver an entertaining attacking style.

Key players like Jimmy Raymond, Petrus Shitembi, Danial Amier, Jordan Mintah, James Okwuosa, Mohamad Alif Hassan, and Nur Iszwan Shamie have significantly contributed to this dynamic play.

Currently, Kuching City FC are sitting in 7th place, just a point above KL City FC, whom they will face this Saturday at Sarawak State Stadium at 8.30 pm.

“We want to give back to the fans who have supported us.

“Hopefully, we can regroup and come back stronger for the KL game,” Aidil told Sarawak Tribune recently.

Aidil’s side has rekindled faith among loyal supporters, particularly after their commendable performance against giants Johor Darul Ta’zim, despite a 2-1 loss.

They displayed their talent in a recent match against Negeri Sembilan FC, where new signing Hazwan Bakri scored in stoppage time, only for The Deer’s captain Annas Rahmat to dash hopes moments later.

Despite heavy rain during that game, over 1,000 dedicated fans attended, a testament to the team’s growing appeal.

The disappointed expressions of fans after that last-minute goal highlighted signs of resurgence of football passion at Sarawak State Stadium.

“Of course, we want three points. It’s not easy; KL City FC is in good form and a very physical team.

“They have a lot of neutralise players. They won their last game, so we need to focus, especially since we’re playing at home,” Aidil said.

His team demonstrated that they have what it takes to compete in the Malaysian Super League, a significant improvement from last season’s 13th-place finish.

Kuching City FC have garnered praise from Negeri Sembilan FC’s head coach, Nantha Kumar Kalliappan, who described the City boys as “one of the best” in the league.

Exciting days lie ahead for Kuching City FC, and only time will tell how far they will go.
