Car destroyed in fire at Taman Sri Moyan

KUCHING (Dec 6): A car parked within a house compound at Taman Sri Moyan here was destroyed in a fire on Friday night.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Firefighters from the Petra Jaya and Batu Lintang stations were dispatched to the scene after an emergency call was received at 9.35pm.

“Upon arrival, firefighters found a car burning in the parking area inside the house compound. The estimated damage was 80 per cent to the vehicle and 10 per cent to the parking area ceiling. There were no victims involved,” the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said in a statement.

The team extinguished the fire using one hose reel.

The operation concluded at 10.16pm after the situation was declared safe and under control.
