KUCHING (Dec 7): The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) of Chung Hua Primary School (CHPS) No. 5 made a contribution of RM3,146 to the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) in conjunction with the upcoming Christmas celebration.
The donation was presented by Kuching CHPS No. 1-6 Board of Management chairman Datuk Jonathan Chai to SCCS representative Boon Siaw Hui at the school on Dec 5.
“The contribution reflects MRC’s ongoing commitment to compassion, community service and social responsibility,” said MRC Stampin in a statement.
It said the pupils, teachers and MRC members from the school had worked together to raise the funds, aimed at easing the burden of young cancer patients and their families.
During the handover ceremony, CHPS No. 5 headmistress Tay Kok Ing said the initiative was meant to show care, love and solidarity with children undergoing cancer treatment.
She hoped the effort would inspire greater awareness and encourage more community members to support SCCS in its mission to provide care, accommodation and emotional support for children with cancer.
