MIRI (Aug 12): Civil servants must continue giving the people from all communities fair, equitable, and prudent service, said Datuk Rosey Yunus.
The Deputy Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Development I (Women and Childhood Development) said public service must be carried out efficiently, without favouritism and sidelining any party, regardless of ethnic, religious, political, geographical, or socioeconomic background.
She said public service is the backbone of the country and an entity that safeguards the welfare of the people.
“To the young public servants, do not become complacent with the skills you have. Instead, always strive to gain new experiences. Leave a legacy by providing the best service wherever you are,” she said in a speech read by Sarkawi Suhaili, a political secretary to Premier, at the Subis District Education Office’s Service Excellence Award (APC) 2023 here recently.
Rosey said she hoped the APC recognition would foster healthy competition among all officers and staff to prove their capabilities, inspire others, and set an example for those in Subis District in building and strengthening the education ecosystem.
A total of 96 education officers and teachers received awards during the APC ceremony.
Among them were 14 personnel who had or will retire this year.
