KUCHING: A charity concert raised RM21,000 for the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS), Penan Women’s Project and Kuching Food Aid, with each getting RM7,000.
The ‘He Ain’t Heavy, He’s my Brother (Volume Two) was held here on Dec 3.
It showcased a host of Sarawak talents and artists who contributed 20 pieces of art for sale with 50 per cent of proceeds going to the three charities.
“This event, held truly in a Sarawakian spirit, was a collective effort of good Samaritans from our society who come from all backgrounds, races and religions to help the needy,” said Chief Operations Officer, Poh Guan Huat.
“We hope we have the opportunity to host this event in the future as well and the credit of its success must go to the hardworking organising committee led by Mike Lim, Olivia Ling and Sahil Dev.
“We as a team are fully driven to carry out this event in 2024 for its third edition,” added Poh.
