KUCHING (Dec 5): The Democratic Action Party (DAP) Stampin Parliamentary Service Centre has distributed school supplies to B40 pupils from four primary schools within the Stampin parliamentary constituency.

The beneficiaries were pupils from SJK(C) Stampin, SK Satria Jaya, SK Stutong and SJK(C) Chung Hua No.2.

Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen’s special assistant, Michael Kong, presented school shoes, pencil cases and water bottles to eligible pupils during handover ceremonies held at the respective schools.

“As we approach the year-end school holidays, many parents are already preparing for the next school term.

“For families, especially those from the B40 community, the rising cost of living continues to pose real challenges, and school essentials are often an added burden.

“Understanding these difficulties, DAP Stampin carried out our annual initiative to ease the financial pressure on parents,” he said in a statement.

Kong said the school essentials may seem small to some, but for many B40 families, they make a meaningful difference as their children prepare for the new term.

He added that the initiative reflects DAP Stampin’s continued commitment to implementing people-centric programmes that are address the real needs of the community.

“We believe that every child deserves equal access and support in their education journey, and we will continue to champion efforts that uplift families and strengthen our future generation,” he said.
