Driver killed in single-vehicle accident along Jalan Bintulu-Tanjung Kidurong

BINTULU (Aug 28): A 28-year-old driver was killed after being involved in a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Bintulu-Tanjung Kidurong at around 2:30am this morning.

Bintulu police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the accident is believed to have occurred when the driver, who was driving the car alone, was heading towards his home in Bandar Jaya from Sungai Plan, Bintulu.

“While driving straight on Jalan Bintulu-Tanjung Kidurong, the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer into the road divider and collide with a tree,” he added.

Nixon said medical personnel from Bintulu Hospital, who were summoned to the scene, pronounced the driver dead.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
