Driver seriously injured after car crashes into electric pole along Miri-Bintulu coastal road

MIRI (Aug 12): A 20-year-old driver was seriously injured after his car crashed into an electric pole near Tawakal estate along Miri-Bintulu coastal road last night.

Batu Niah fire station chief Rary Binji said they received a call on the incident at 8.39pm, and a team of seven firefighters was despatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, it was found that the car had skidded to the roadside and crashed into an electric pole. The car was heading towards Miri from Bintulu when the incident occurred.

“The victim had been removed from his car by members of the public. He was unconscious and sustained serious injuries,” he said.

He said the victim was handed over paramedics from Ladang 3 clinic for further action.

The operation ended at 9.50pm.
