Elderly driver seriously injured in car-lorry collision on Jln Tatau-Bintulu

BINTULU (Sept 5): A 60-year-old man sustained serious injuries following a collision between the car he was driving and a 12-tonne lorry at the Separai P-Turn on Jalan Tatau-Bintulu earlier today.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Tatau station chief Jankey Jikat reported that firefighters were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 3.50 pm.

“Upon arrival, the team confirmed the collision and found the victim trapped in the driver’s seat,” Jankey said, adding that firefighters had to cut through the wreckage to free the victim.

The injured man was subsequently handed over to medical personnel for further treatment, Jankey added.
