Elderly man injured after fall near medical centre in Sibu

SIBU (Jan 11): An elderly man sustained a head injury after falling on the road near a private medical centre along Brooke Drive here on Sunday morning.

In a statement, the Sibu Civil Defence Force (APM) said it received an emergency call from a member of the public at about 11.57am and immediately dispatched a team to the scene.

“Upon arrival, the man was found lying on the road and was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang, as well as members of the public,” the statement said.

The man suffered a head injury that caused bleeding and was given initial treatment at the scene before being transported by ambulance to Sibu Hospital, accompanied by his son.
