A 77-year-old medical practitioner from Pahang has won RM23.3 million in the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on 24 July and plans to give the prize money to his children

According to the New Straits Times, the man considers his win a bonus, as he enjoys the betting process more.

"I'm old and I do not need so much money, so I will give the money to my children so they can use it wisely to expand their businesses and live comfortably," he told STM Lottery Sdn Bhd, the company behind the popular Sports Toto brand.

The man purchased a System 7 ticket but only had six sets of numbers prepared, including the licence plate of his wife's vehicle.

He randomly picked a seventh set of numbers, which turned out to be one of the winning pairs for the jackpot.

"I chose the pair of winning numbers which looked like each other and sounded lucky — '9938 and 8388'," he said.

The elderly man won a total of RM23,348,049.75 5, as well as an additional RM1,680 as the System Play bonus

The remaining winnings of RM406,052.95 from the same 4D Jackpot 1 were won by another lucky punter from Sarawak, who purchased an i-System ticket for the win.
