Elderly woman found dead in locked flat at KMC Apartments

KUCHING (March 14): A 96-year-old woman was found dead on Friday night at KMC Flat in Jalan Central Timur after her family members were unable to open the door from the outside.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) dispatched firefighters from the Padungan fire station after receiving a distress call at 9.10pm.

“The complainant’s mother was in the unit, and the door could not be opened from the outside.

“Once the door was pried open, Bomba personnel found the victim unconscious before she was pronounced dead by paramedics,” Bomba said.

The body was then handed over to the police for further action.
