Elderly woman killed in single-vehicle accident in Betong

KUCHING, Mar 15: An elderly woman was killed in an accident that occurred at the Pan Borneo Highway at Jalan Sri Aman–Saratok in Betong today.

In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 4.44pm, and firefighters from the Betong station were deployed.

The report noted that the accident involved a single vehicle, a Proton Wira, with six people in it—two men and four women—that had skidded off the road and collided with the road divider.

Five victims sustained minor injuries, while the elderly woman—who was sitting in the backseat—was confirmed to be dead by personnel from the Ministry of Health.

The injured victims were brought to the hospital, while the deceased victim was handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
