KUCHING: A Christmas tree has been put up outside the main entrance of Emart Tabuan Jaya to put shoppers in the mood of the festive season.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng lit up the huge decoration.

“Emart Tabuan Jaya stands as a beacon in our community, offering not just fresh groceries from the supermarket but also serving as an instrumental entity that has generated invaluable job opportunities and provided a bustling hub for local businesses to thrive,” he said.

“It’s truly commendable to witness their commitment to the growth and sustenance of our community,” he said during the ceremony here, today (Dec 9).

This Christmas season, Emart Tabuan Jaya has outdone itself by bringing in booths from the local community to add to the festive cheer.

These booths are not just about commerce; they symbolise the spirit of sharing and celebration that embodies the true essence of this time of the year.

The diverse range of offerings and activities at these booths provides a platform for the community to come together and revel in the joy of the season.

“In addition to this beautiful tree lighting ceremony, I am thrilled to know that Emart Tabuan Jaya has organised an array of other delightful events,” said Wee.

“From the captivating Christmas Dance to the eagerly anticipated Christmas Santa Meet & Greet and the charming Miss Teen Santarina 2.0 competition, there’s something for everyone in the community to participate in and enjoy.

“Christmas is a time for us to cherish the moments we share with our loved ones, to spread kindness, and to embrace the joy of giving. It’s occasions like this that remind us of the importance of community and unity,” he said.
