KUCHING, March 19: Everrise Departmental Store Sdn Bhd delivered a message of hope to families in Batu Kawa and Kota Sentosa today, contributing RM17,000 worth of food to help ease the burden of rising living costs.
The donation was formally received at Everrise’s 4th Mile outlet by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, representing their respective service centres, which will ensure the aid reaches the neediest families.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr Sim highlighted that Everrise’s support reflects a spirit of unity and shared responsibility in the community.
Yap lauded the company’s generosity, noting that the initiative would directly benefit many families while demonstrating how private-public collaboration fosters a caring and resilient society.
“Everrise’s contribution goes beyond food aid, it is a powerful reminder that even as a commercial entity, they prioritise compassion and social responsibility. Their example sets a high standard for others to follow,” Yap said in a statement today.
The initiative underscores the vital role of public-private partnerships in uplifting communities and highlights how responsible businesses can contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
Both leaders extended their heartfelt thanks to Everrise for their generosity and commitment to supporting the people of Kota Sentosa and Batu Kawa. — DayakDaily
