Bomba personnel working to remove the tree trunk from the roof of the car.
KUCHING (Jan 1): A fallen tree crushed a Perodua Bezza and blocked the main road at Taman TM along Jalan Satok early on Thursday morning.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call at 1.07am and dispatched a team from the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.
Operations commander PBK I Abdul Hakim Supian said the incident did not involve any casualties.
“Upon arrival, the team found a tree that had fallen onto a Perodua Bezza and was obstructing the main thoroughfare.
“Firefighters carried out cutting works to remove the tree and reopen the road to traffic,” he said in a statement.
After ensuring the area was safe, the five-member team returned to the station.
Two fire appliances, a light fire rescue tender (LFRT) and an emergency medical rescue services (EMRS) vehicle, were deployed during the operation.
