KUCHING (Jan 11): The number of flood evacuees currently sheltered at active temporary evacuation centres (PPS) across Sarawak has dropped to 2,802 victims from 864 households, according to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
In its 4pm update, SDMC said 11 PPS have been closed, with three in the Samarahan district, one in Gedong, five in Siburan and two in Balai Ringin.
A total of 29 PPS remain active statewide, covering 10 districts across five divisions.
The Serian Division continues to record the highest number of flood victims, with evacuees currently housed at 19 PPS.
