KUALA LUMPUR, 1 Oct: Johan Setia and Klang in Selangor are among the four areas that recorded air pollution index (IPU) reading at unhealthy levels as of 5 pm today.
According to the Malaysian Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS) portal, Johan Setia recorded readings of IPU 154 and Klang (139).
Two other areas that recorded unhealthy IPU readings are Value, Negeri Sembilan (130) and Putrajaya (122).
Meanwhile, a total of 57 districts recorded IPU readings at medium level among them Shah Alam and Banting, Selangor which respectively recorded IPU 98 and 97 as well as Cheras (95).
Seven areas are at good levels namely Kangar, Perlis with an IPU reading of 49 and some areas in Sarawak namely ILP Miri and Miri, Sarawak respectively (47), Mukah (46), Sibu (44), Limbang (35) as well as Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (45).
IPU readings of zero to 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy and IPUs above 300 are at dangerous levels. -TVS
